Debora A Paul
From August 2005 to present I have practiced in all areas of Family Law including:
Step-parent Adoptions Guardianships
* I currently offer assistance with Wills and Trusts and other general law practice. *
I prepare all documentation from Petitions to Requests for Orders. I appear at all hearings, motions and trials. I perform discovery and negotiate and draft marital settlement agreements. I represent minors at school board expulsion hearings.
I started my career in January 1995 working for the Law Office of John Barker and Associates as a Deputy Public Defender in Madera, California. I managed felony and misdemeanor criminal cases from arraignment to trial, including pre-trial negotiations, pleas, motions, trials, sentencing, and misdemeanor appeals. I appeared and counseled on conservatorships, juvenile dependency, juvenile delinquency and Family Support cases, including contested contempt of court, modifications and paternity issues.
From August 2000 to May 2005 I worked for the Madera County Superior Court at the Family Law Center as the Family Law Facilitator/Self Help Attorney. I established the Family Law Center, a self-help program to educate self-educated litigants in legal processes such as courtroom procedures, trial tactics, and filling out Judicial Council forms. I developed instructional packets in Family Law and Probate Guardianship matters. I was given the opportunity to advise the local Victim Service organization, paralegals, attorneys, other court divisions and law enforcement on Family Law matters.
